WE NEED YOU!
YOUTH OPPORTUNITY FUND – PANEL MEMBERS NEEDED!
Hackney Youth Opportunity Fund awards young people grants of up to £3,500 to spend on activities and projects. Grants are available to young people aged 6– 19 or up to 25 years for young people with support needs. Young people present their ideas for a project or activity through an application process and then if shortlisted are invited in, to pitch their idea in more detail to a panel of young people (YOF Panel). The final decision about who the funding goes to is made by the panel!
As a Youth Opportunity Fund Panellist you will:
- Sit on the YOF Panel alongside other young people
- Process and assess shortlisted applications based on the YOF guidelines and training
- Attend training prior to becoming a YOF Panel member
- Commit for at least 6 sessions.
- Visit funded projects for monitoring and evaluation purposes.
So if you are aged 12-19 and would like to get involved and join the panel we are recruiting now! Our next training event for potential new members will be Tuesday 26th September 5:30-7:30pm at Hackney Town Hall.
Please note that this is a serious role and you will have to take part in interviews, analyse applications and ultimately make important decisions for the benefit of other Hackney young people. So if you want to be a member you will need to take the role seriously!
P.S. This would look very good on your CV or future college/uni application…#justsaying
